Delectable Jan

After we dropped Jack off in Boston, Jim and I drove the 2 hours West to Brattleboro, Vermont where we spent the weekend.

My trip to Delectable Mountain Cloth to visit Jan Norris inspired this video:

[Note:  I highly recommend clicking on the HD which will take you to vimeo where you can watch the video in high definition.  Otherwise it's a bit fuzzy at full screen.]

Delectable Jan from Susan Elliott on Vimeo.

You can find the Delectable Mountain website here.  You can reach Jan and the staff at Delectable Mountain by phone at (802) 257-4456 or by email at staff@delectablemountain.com  You can follow the shop news on Facebook here.

I've uploaded all the pictures that I used in the video to my Flickr account here.

After my visit, I felt such overwhelming gratitude to Jan that this was the only way I knew how to express it.

She does so much more than buy and sell cloth.

She puts all of herself into what she creates.

She really is everything.  I just love her.

Oh this would be worth the trip to Vermont itself! What a fun lady, she just glows doesn't she? And I love her music, beautiful. Thanks so much for showing this little piece of Heaven!

OH MY.
I am truly gobsmacked.
What a beautiful tale of a lovely soul ... you've made me wish for a plane ticket back there!
Alas, shall have to comfort myself with a hop over
to her website.

Thanks for this fabulous post, Susan.

What a wonderful way to spend your weekend. Was there any room in your car for the journey home? Hard to believe your Jack is off at school. I hope he settles in quickly,

A beautiful tribute. Oh, to be that centered would be lovely.

A Vermont weekend trip has been a conversation around here lately, if we do make it, I will definitely have to make a stop there. Thank you for letting us know about her.

I remember when you posted previously Susan about your visit to Delectable and it is truly delectable! I contacted Jan shortly after and order and bundle of fabric. I can't believe the timing of your post - I just posted about this on my blog on Wednesday! I've started a CQ using the fabric I receive from Delectable so I'll need to email Jan about it. Linda also mentioned your post today... A truly lovely video! As I said, it is on my bucket list. Just wish I had known about it when I passed through Brattleboro several years ago!

Thank you for sharing this. This shop is indeed unique and I would like to pay Jan a visit one day, but I'm too far. I like very much her music too.
Did you receive my email ? Looking forward to seeing your beautiful embroideries. Best wishes, Veronique from France.

Thanks so much for producing this great video and for the insight into Jan and her fabulous shop. I would be in heaven if I could visit in person but not so likely living far, far away in New Zealand. Great to have the opportunity to visit vicariously through your visit. Rae.
