It was a good hair day for Mrs. Rose...
And she needed an ear to tuck her hair behind so I gave her one of those.
And then I pulled out this hoggett fleece I had tucked away in "Mrs. Rose's collection box". I had bought it a few years ago at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival, thinking it was perfect for old-lady hair.
Evidently "hogget" means it's the very first sheep's fleece so the tips on the end have the original baby lamb wool. You probably knew that already but I didn't. Now when I go to Sheep and Wool next week, I'll actually know what I'm looking at...kind of...
I also crepe-d the old girl's neck and put the creases back in her face. She was looking way too young for that gray hair on her head.
It feels so good to be underway and over the big task of her body, face and hair. It feels really good...
See you next time.

her hair is great!
Don't you just love when you get a face done that the personality shows up! I used to help make puppets and loved getting the face done! She's beautiful!
Mrs Rose looks better and better. What a great job you do!!
Looking so sweet x
Her hair makes me smile. What a lovely elderly lady she was.

Susan, I've been watching your 'Mrs Rose' being created, and love how your going about it. I always struggle with the hair and face. You have given me more ideas now, thank you.

Great hair!! She looks Fabulous!!
I bet Mrs. Rose feels great having her hair all done. She looks good! I didn't know that about the 1st cut of fleece.
She is looking very nice...can't wait to see more.
And I'll bet she's just as happy as you are with her new do! Great work!
Wow...that hair is perfect:)
I always learn so much reading your blog. Hoggett was never in my vocabulary and I am glad to know what it means. Mrs. Rose has beautiful hair for her age. It truly looks very real. Your additional sculpting and neck crepeing really does look good. If only we could do the reverse on ourselves so easily. Mrs. Rose is really happy to be sitting in her chair. Beautifully done dear...
Wow! She is looking amazing Susan! I never knew what hogget was either, in fact have never heard of it. But it makes perfectly beautiful hair.
thr hair has worked a treat and the neck really has an aged look, this piace is coming on wonderfully
I know that hoggett was a word but I had know idea what it was, something else you have taught me :-)
I love Mrs Rose's hair!
Great hair-do!
Mrs. Rose looks fabulous - she's positively "blooming". I love the detail you are going to here - so much fun to follow along...
She's turning into the warm, caring woman that you have described to us. I can see how you must feel happy. She is turning out so well. This is the first of your creations that I have had the privilege to see from the beginning, and I'm so glad I found you. I am just awe-struck by your talent and vision.
