January's Silver Palette

Today, I'm getting started on my January block for the Crazy Quilt Journal Project.

I love January. It's a quiet, reflective month for me. It's cold and gray and the days are short.

So for this month, I am inspired by January's palette...

And I have pulled together my palette of supplies into a collection box and I'm ready to start.

I hope to finish piecing today and start stitching tomorrow.

I'm a bit under the weather, running a slight fever and fearing a sinus infection.

We'll see how it goes...

And so I'm playing around with the concept of reflection...

And beginning to put the pieces together.

And this photo from camil tulcan's photostream on Flickr, I just love...

See you next time.

Love what you have gathered together for your quilt project. Whites and silvers just make a person mellow...unless it is seen through the windshield of a car! I love the snow and quiet of Winter too...but don't you just wish a little bit that June was closer???

What a beautiful palette! I can't wait to see what you create.
Very sorry about your Ravens. I really wanted them to win but at least it was a good game to watch! Both of my teams lost yesterday.

I think you approach every project you do as a work of art. No simple concepts. Elaborate components with perfect detail.

This is gonna be good.

Get well soon. I sure the soft grey-pinks and grey-blues in your colour palette will be soothing for a slightly fragile state of mind!

I hope that the slight fever does not develope into anything more ... if it does then I hope your get well soon.

January is not my favourite month but seeing it through your eyes, I could be persuaded differently :-)

I love the goodies that you have put into your collection box and am excited to see what you will do with them.

I really like your silver palette. I have always thought of silver as being a cold color but these silvers have a warmth to them. They will make a beautiful block under your needle.
