Cascade Lake

Yesterday, rather than sit home and stitch those baby blue birds, Jack and I got into the car and drove to meet all of his cousins at Cascade Lake.

I brought my embroidery, having imagined the possibility of sitting quietly under a Sycamore tree with a cold glass of tea, stitching quietly as the birds chirped in the trees.

Guffaw!

Not with this crew of kids...

There was too much action.

Too much fun.

So I sat at the lake's edge and laughed.

And took tons of pictures.

And thanked God that I have this beautiful, healthy family who had this one magical Summer day jumping in the lake.

Jack got his cast off about two weeks ago. He's got about three more weeks of physical therapy and he should be able to start jogging.

Exhibit A.

He was fine yesterday at the lake. See exhibit A.

  6. LOL, How could you imagine stitching with them?
You did not join them in the jumping???
But I'm sure this will inspire you some embroidery in the winter. Or when one of those nieces get married ;-)

  9. You Are Sooo Funneeee! Sit under a tree and stitch. I surmise that you knew beforehand that would NEVVVVER happen and took needle and thread so you could use the shennigans as an excuse.

    Am I right? O, yes I AM!!

  14. how much fun is that? sitting at waters edge taking loads of photos,OMG! they make me tired just looking at their pictures!)
I always take my stitching with me on family vacations outings and things of this sort thinking, I'll get SOMETHING done! I never get 1/4 what I thought I was going to get done accomplished, other than the fun;)

  17. Do you mean to tell me you didn't join in the fun????!!

My favorite shot is the wee one crouched down on the dock. She is so intent on whatever has caught her eye.

  18. How wonderful to have such a healthy, beautiful bunch of children.
Your family is blessed and this is what summer is for even though we all feel like we should be stitching something but enjoying them is wonderful too.
