the sun shining ~~ the birds singing ~~ creative work that has meaning ~~
Happiness is a cool place to settle into Summer, to sit and bead and watch the day progress...
It's beautiful supplies with which to work and eyes that can see and hands that can stitch...
It's when your son is totally engaged in the third book of the Stephanie Meyer series and can't do anything else...
It's getting a call from your father to come for a special lunch because your niece just won the outstanding leadership award for her entire school...
Happiness happens when...should you have more than two hundred teeny-tiny sequins to bead into place...
that you have a 47-hour outstandingly good book to listen to while you do it... (psst...it's Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas...an oldie but oh-so-very-goody...)
And, Happiness is having all of you to share it with me...
Thanks for reading my blog...for your interest in my work and my life.
I hope your day is filled with happiness.
Reading your blog starts MY day with happiness, Susan!
ReplyDeleteHave a blissful time beading....
Hi, I just stopped by from Heather's blog and wanted to say that I'm hooked from the first post. Gorgeous pictures! I love that tiny little bowl that the tiny little flowers are in, is that a salt dip?
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting a smile on my face today and a song in my heart (maybe a little too much but definitely the smiles on my face).
ReplyDeleteThe Count of Monte Cristo is probably my favorite book of all time! Great post!
ReplyDeleteoohoo! Monte Cristo! I've been wanting to get to that one for a long time ... you might be spurring me on do it sooner rather than later. :) And GO JACK for reading Twilight!
ReplyDeleteI was quite surprised when my grandson read Twilight. He read it for his girlfriend. Yes, at 14 he has discovered girls big time. I could have waited two more years for that. Well, he discovered them long ago, but now they come and stay for dinner and a movie or a swim.
ReplyDeleteHappiness is thinking about what makes you happy and having a long list.
Also, I wanted to tell you. I stopped at B&N to buy a mag and the bag was printed with the openning lines of Wuthering Heights. I'm going to find a copy of the book this weekend. Its one of my alltime favorites and have been thinking of it since you posted on GWTW. The bag was a reminder.
What a relaxing, welcoming post this is, Susan. Makes me just want to slip into that chair across from you and do a little beading myself... sigh.........
ReplyDeleteYour sequin holder is to die for... as Lisa says, is it a salt dip?
what a lovely day you are having. i'll have to get one of those i-pod thingies so i can listen to books while i stitch.
ReplyDeleteOr going to a tea shop and buying special tea! That made me really happy, too!
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is my favorite one (and I love blogs). Topics are always good, pictures are outstanding and your needlework is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Thank you for posting often!
ReplyDeleteMimi
Look at all those lovely little sequins shaped like flowers! They are adorable! Is that a salt cellar you have put them in??? How sweet is that!?
ReplyDeleteOh Susan...you bring happiness and a relaxing, restful feeling to so many of us! Life is good...of course it has its ups and downs but I think that has to be. But on those occassions where you can really see and feel such happiness...well, those are special.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful message! I wish you more beautiful days. I posted a photo of a jacket embroidered by Lesage for Yves Saint Laurent today, Hope it makes you smile!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog and do so almost every day. You have so much energy...it's great. Your blogs put a smile on my face every time I read them and today is no exception. Thank you for sharing.
