Audrey has moved on from her role as Aqua Net spokesperson and is now a cover girl! It's a thrill for both me and our girl.
This past Spring I was asked by Stitch magazine to write two articles for the Oct/Nov issue. It seems so long ago now.
The first article was titled 'From Sketch to Stitch' about my Breakfast at Tiffany's piece...
The second was for a project I designed for the magazine as an offshoot of my original...
Go Lightly.
It covers some of the components from my original design: the beaded chandelier, a beaded stumpwork butterfly (albeit much smaller), lettering, Audrey's hair and jewels...
It's message can be interpreted many ways. Tread lightly. Leave no trace. Go with the light. Don't take yourself too seriously.
Like Holly Golightly. The girl who charms and beguiles, flitting in and out of people's lives, never allowing herself to be tied down or taken too seriously.
The instructions to make this project are in the current Oct/Nov issue of Stitch, the magazine of the UK Embroiderers' Guild.
I'm selling kits for the project and might consider offering an online class for the piece if there is enough interest. To hear more about both of these options, click here.
Happy day everyone!

Many congratulations, my friend. I'm so thrilled for you.

this sounds like a magazine I should get a subscription to! Huge congratulations on your cover, but I can't say I'm surprised that they see how talented and deserving you are of the honor.
When I was flicking through the last issue in the shop a few weeks ago, I saw this in the 'In Our Next Issue' feature and recognised it at once. I haven't bought 'Stitch' for a long time, but I may very well indulge myself and get this issue...
WELL DONE!
Congratulations Susan Dear. Holly-Go-Lightly is magnificent. How wonderful of you to share your story with Stitch magazine. Stitching Bliss...
Congratulations!
It must be very special to see your work printed in a magazine.
Susan- I'm so happy for your success- absolutely well deserved!! The magazine pages are just magnificent-- works of art themselves! What a wonderful accolade to add to your growing resume of great things!!
Vicki
Don't know what to say that hasn't already been said - except you and Tiffany thoroughly deserve this! :-) Congraulations.
