Looking for Rainbows

You know how you find yourself attracted to certain colors over and over again.

For the longest time, I was hooked on the color aqua. I wore aqua, I stitched with aqua, I bought aqua colored stationery...

Well, I think my aqua days are over...

Yesterday while I was cleaning up from my trips and putting some recent purchases away, I made a discovery.

I've been buying up rainbows...

  1. A piece of hand-dyed silk that I picked up at the Sheep and Wool Festival -- I said I didn't buy any yarn
  2. My color choice from Chris Daly's Dye Candy Velvet
  3. A rainbow swirl of wool roving also from Sheep and Wool (roving is not yarn)
  4. Colors of buttonhole silk I pulled out for a new collection box for my first full-size CQ quilt -- it's going to be white with rainbow colors...
  5. Colored ribbons from the dollar bins at JoAnns for Summer kid-projects
  6. My new swim cap. Someone took my swim cap at the pool the other day so I had to buy a new one yesterday...
  7. You can't really see but this is a sweet little rainbow colored glass flower button I bought from Maureen Greeson at the Grand CQ Adventure
  8. Because I'm swimming across the Chesapeake Bay again this June...I've been spending lots of hours in the pool. My other bathing suit finally fell apart from all the chlorine. This is the new one I picked out along with my new bathing cap. I believe in being a retiring, shy wall flower. Actually, if I'm going to drown out in open water, at least they'll be able to find my body!
And all that reminded me of what the Littlest One said last Summer. At the time, my oldest niece Carolyn was not with us because she was working in her new job just out of college.

I was asking various family members to give their advice on what Carolyn should do if she was having a bad day...

Here's just a snippet...

Here's hoping you find some rainbows...

See you next time.

Teal is my weakness, rather than aqua - but you certainly seem to have launched into a rainbow!

Now that you are giving up aqua...can I have it? I love your swim suit and do post a photo... What is that tiny bit of black & white stripe? Is it part of your suit? It is great againt the rainbow... maybe some black ribbon with white polka dots... Anyway change is good...I see an Allie influence here! She is a walkin rainbow herself... Ger

I was a fool for aqua too, but I am hitching a ride on Honeysuckle. I just love that color. There are many imposters so you have to be really careful and look in the light.

The Little One had the BEST advice. We are always thrilled to see a rainbow, aren't we!!
xx, Carol
