Sip and Stitch

Yesterday we had our monthly Crazy Quilt gathering at Helen's house.

It was a gray, cold and rainy drive getting there. But inside Helen's home was a completely different feeling...

There were beautiful primroses that Maureen had brought for each one of us.

And Helen had made tea! And homemade treats in the shapes of hearts...

You see...Helen is a Healer by trade and love comes as naturally to her as breathing.

She gave us our own pot. Each was more beautiful than the next...

And we sipped and stitched...

And completely forgot about the gray, cold world outside and any worries we may have carried in.

I'm not sure if it was the friendship, the stitching, the tea...or the fact that Helen is a Healer....

But I left feeling heaps better than when I went in...

(The crazy quilt project featured is a Christmas stocking that Maureen is working on. She doesn't have a blog but I wrote about a trip to her house for our holiday gathering here.)

what a beautiful post...I love the pictures and the embroidery. One picture looks like it might have included a tablecloth or napkin of yesteryear. I've always wanted to use those in some way because they won't be on a table anymore.

Lovely - glad you were able to brighten up the cloudy day.

So Wonderful! Thanks for sharing this deliciously rich day! I am dreaming of such beauty this morning as I sit stiffly in my chair looking out at the snowy morning. Cleared and moved my storage unit yesterday...It was great...but paying for it with my body today! The lovely teapots bring such joy...Enjoy your Sunday.

What a lovely treat that was, having tea, stitching, and wonderful companionship at your friend who is a Healer's home. I feel refreshed and uplifted just by reading your post. Helen sounds like a wonderful, caring lady.

Thank you for sharing this.

I suspect that your mood was lightened by the combination of all..the friendship, stitching, tea AND the healer which probably increased your production of dopamine!

What a beautiful and bright setting you were in. Hard NOT to be happy with such great fellowship.

The rose!

The rose on the left of your banner!

May I ask where it's from? Do you have any other pictures of it? Is the design copyright?

What are the stitches on the inside of the petals?

I love roses the most of all flowers, and I'd love to stitch this one if at all possible.

Can you help me with some details?

MOST appreciated,

Do you think Helen would mind if we invited ourselves next time? Stitching, tea and cake, and flowers what a lovely combination

What fun! For me primroses are spring personified. They brighten up the greyest of days with their cheery colors.
