I finished my little book of needles today.
I designed it to be an actual book with a binding and felt signatures...
There are five signatures with 10 distinct pages for all the types of needles I use, plus a page for pins...and the page I showed you yesterday for my broken needles...
And there's even a little pocket inside the front cover because I always need a lot of pockets...
I love that blue material too with the spools of thread.
I did mess up one thing. Originally, I had my pages in alphabetical order, and somehow, when I finally got them sewn down...I had messed up the order.
No matter how hard I try to be methodical and organized, I still end up with my own crazy filing system...
I have no intention of ripping them out and fixing them so "out-of-order" I will remain.
I really enjoyed making this little book. From the flower on its cover...
To the little ties that hold it together...
It was a joy to stitch. And it's a joy to hold.
Rest well tonight, my needles, for tomorrow we work.

I love it, I NEED the same !!
amazing, I really like
As ever, you have created something splendiferous! It is the little details you think of that make your projects so special.
The pages may not be in alphabetical order but they are in the order they intended to be.
I think we all agree...it is lovely and we want it!
It is truly beautiful. From the delicate flower on the front to the hanging flowers, to the individually titled pages... I want one!!
Thats incredible, what an inspiration. I want to make one now.
All this time that I have known you , I have cherished the parts of you that you have shared.
I loved each an every picture of your needlebook. I REALLY looked at each one pondering the detail you created on each page. Once again I was thinking that the element that makes your work so special is your joy. I saw it in the book with every tiny detail that made this project another work of love.
xx, Carol
Wow, it certainly is a joy to behold and I'm sure it will make you feel happy every time you use it.

Cutest thing EVER! I love how when it is closed it reminds me of a kimono. It will be interesting to see how many needles will be broken this year.
Thanks for enlightening me on this tradition. I had never heard of it before!
Delightful! Now I need to make my own needle book. It' won't be as lovely but it will be fun to work up.
That is just the cutest needlebook. Great idea and very creative. Just beautiful!!
Sometimes these "little" projects are so satisfying to make ~ even more so than big ones! Love how bright and colorful your needlebook is! It's a work of art!
Love your needle book! It is beautiful! Makes me want to make one!
Have a blessed day,
Diane
You are happy, your needles are happy too! Seems you'll have a nice time together :-)
Now that's a needlebook!!! Love it!
What a beauty ! Saw one of your pieces on Facebook : congratulations !
Absolutely stunning. I agree with the others, one can really see the joy you have in your 'work'. Of course, anything you enjoy that much can never be work. Thanks so much for sharing. Details are just amazing. Suzie in Idaho
Delightful - it looks like fun!
Your creations are such a joy to see. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Simply beautiful - the broken but not forgotten page is my favourite part of your project though the flower on the front is stunning too.
I've been toying with the idea of making a needle book for some time. I'm curious: what size are your pages?

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! Awesome!! :)
This is lovely! It inspires me. I made a temporary book using quilt batting. It seemed good at first, but it holds the needle holes too well and the needles began falling out. I found some lovely wool felt at the quilt shop, so I'll try again with that. I like your labels, but I have no idea what my needles are.
Susan,
I don't know where you find the time.... It's gorgeous.
Hello Susan,
your needle book is soo wonderful and this blog, too!!!Very nice.
My english is not so good;-)
Greatings from Germany,

I really love your needlebook! What a great idea. It is beautifully crafted. I am inspired now to make one for myself and I happen to have some random small pieces of felt too. I love the fact that your pages ended up out of order. It just seems fitting for something so creative. It adds personality.
To this list…”joy, delightful, wow, love, privilege, priceless, beautiful, awesome, incredible, gorgeous, fabulous, amazing, splendid, stunning” I would like to add ditto and covet and many other synonyms. This is truly a work of art!
I love needlebooks! And I especially LOVE this one. Love those bright bits of felt holding the needles, the needle type labels and the ties holding it together. And the added details...the broken needle holder and the pocket for secrets, SWEEEET!
Oh, I like that. Very good idea! I might put something like that together myself one day.
Whilst I refues to 'worship' my needles in any way, shape or form (they are a mere tool, every bit as much as the thread, scissors, fabric etc - it's *US* that create the piece, *our* work, effort and time), I think having a good, user-friendly way to organise them is a great idea.
I really should get around to populating the needlecase I made in Taiwan....
This is awesome..totally smart idea..
i always love your Photography & strong images...wanna snatch your camera..hahaha...don't mind plz...m just kidding
Pretty much perfect, Susan! So well thought out and executed... as always!
Susan your amazing little needle book is so beautiful and practical. Your attention to detail inside and out speaks to your love of stitching. Happy Hearts...
I just love your creativeness!!! You´re a definite inspiration...
