I am SO excited!! Finally, a crazy quilting retreat that is on the East Coast -- AND, there are GREAT teachers!
Maureen Greeson has absolutely outdone herself! She has put together a powerhouse combination of crazy quilt teachers and techniques for us next Spring -- and -- Can you believe it? Sharon Boggon is coming from Australia for the first time to teach! Need I say more?? OK, I have to say more because it gets better...
One of my very favorite people, Allison Aller will be teaching some of her be-YOO-tiful flower techniques -- I've had the absolute pleasure of being in her class before and she's SO much fun. And Betty Pillsbury too! Well, that is just the yummiest icing on an already fantabulous cake! I have never taken a class from Betty and I'm so glad to have the opportunity. All three of these ladies make gorgeous crazy quilts and they're coming to the East Coast (pinching myself!)
I just cannot wait! Can you tell? *wink There's a whole group of us driving up from Baltimore -- it has to be the most exciting thing that's happened to me in a looong time! I mean, I just can't wait to meet everyone. And the thought of all my CQ buddies going away together for a CQ retreat just puts it over the top. I've never been able to make it to the Midwest for the CQ seminars that are held there...most of the time I just drool and pine when I hear about them.
So, won't you come too? April 7-10, 2011 in Glastonbury, CT~!
And if that isn't enough...Maureen is also hosting Candace Kling this November! She's the beautiful ribbon artist and author of The Artful Ribbon -- one of my absolute faves! And I am GOING!
Just check out this amazing ribbonwork -- I cannot wait to learn it all!
OK, I have to run but I just wanted to tell you all since it's filling up quickly.
Today I'm teaching the Jewel of India bracelet to my EGA group... I've never taught beading before so I'm a bit nervous...Thankfully, they are a loving and forgiving group. I just hope we all have nimble fingers and everyone likesthe color selections and kits I put together....fingers crossed.
See you tomorrow!

Definitely take the Candace Kling workshop if you can. I took this same workshop several years ago at G Street Fabrics and it was fabulous! She's a fantastic teacher and you come away with the most beautiful samples and so much knowledge!
I'm sure your workshop for EGA will go well. The bracelet is so pretty, everyone will love it!

You are all lucky girls!
What a great opportunity!
No wonder you're excited Susan - it sounds brilliant!
And I've just checked out your Jewel of India post - wow - love those bracelets and they look so good against your tanned skin - hmmm, don't think they would look as pretty on my white 'no sun for months' arm :(
hope your class went well xx

I'm sure your beaded bracelet classes will go beautifully! The packets of supplies are so enticing!
Oh, wish I was able to make the workshop with Candace Kling! I'd been looking for a copy of her book for ages and just recently found a copy in our used bookstore and am already hooked on it!
Have a terrific time at the CQ workshop! What a wonderful lineup you have for it!
Oh, and I love that woven "ribbon" dress of JPG! Glorious! (not that I could ever even consider wearing such a dress, but so fun to see!)
OMG!!!! Lucky you. You actually get to meet some of the wonderful CQ artists whose blogs we follow. You better go dry so you can soak up all you can!!!
Good luck on the class. You'll do fine!
xx, Carol
I would just lOVE to join you but it will have to be in spirit. Now when are those Baltimore girls coming to teach Germany a thing or two about handwork?! How did your class go? I'm sure you made it exciting and fun. There's probably a bunch of people out getting all the supplies they need (and then some) because they are so into beading now!
You were born to teach and I am sure your class was just wonderful!
Very excited to read that the CQ Adventure is filling up. I can't wait!!!!
