Audrey's Ice Skate

I have been longing to work on my Breakfast at Tiffany's block but I honestly won't get to it until January -- Santa has conscripted me into his elf workforce for the next few weeks and I can't think of a jollier guy to work for!!

In the meantime, I'm heading off today to our Annual Crazy Quilter's Christmas luncheon at my friend Maureen's house.

Oh boy, she is such a good cook and does a lovely job of making each guest feel special and spoiled.

As part of our luncheon, we each make an ornament, wrap them in plain paper and then choose one...you never know whose ornament you will be taking home to your tree.

With all those Audrey scraps lying around, I figured our New York darling needed to have ice skates for Rockefeller Center.

The pattern inspiration came directly from Alicia Paulson at Rosy Little Things.

The minute I saw this skate, I knew I wanted to make a crazy quilt version. Plus, Audrey needed new skates!

More elf updates to come!

Oh, the ice scate is so PRETTY. I like your cq version better than the original - it's so frosty delicately ice-skatish! Very nice!

A fabulous crazy quilt skate! I love the blue hue and the snowflake embroidery hints...I might even skate again if I had a magical pair like this!

Great skate, Susan. Better than anything at Tiffany's, I think. Being an elf is fun, and I'm really glad not to have to do the "down-the-chimney" thing, aren't you? Have fun at your luncheon; we're off to shop and bring food for the choir that's performing tonight at our church.

How gorgeous! Wouldn't I love to be your swap partner for this one! Those blue and white jingle bells are terrific! Never seen any like that before! The perfect accent to your gorgeous stitching!

The blue would go nicely with our color 'theme' this year...not that we have ANY decor done but the lights outside and one wreath in here. But I keep thinking in blue....

Your CQ iceskate ornament is so much more beautiful than the one used for the photo on the pattern! What a lucky girl to get such a beautiful handmade ornament! I think I'm adding you to my google reader...I want to see more of your talented goodness! :) (I'm here by way of Melissa at Honey Bee's Bliss~She pointed this blog post out to me).

OMG... the ice skate has to be the most beautiful Christmas ornament I have ever seen in my life! It brings back a ton of memories, partly because it's a skate and partly because of the way you've embellished it. Way to go Ms. Elf!!! Hugs, Robin A.
