It's a Start...

The beginning of November's Bead Journal Project...

For me, the theme of this week is preparation. I'm preparing to knit my sweater; I'm preparing to make Christmas gifts for my family; I'm preparing my next piece for BJP; I'm preparing to go away this weekend with a few friends...

But most of all, I am preparing myself for the uncertainty we're all facing as we travel down this unprecedented economic landscape. I am preparing myself to face the unknown and be strong. I must return to what I can control for the Nightly News is reminding me that I am not in control. And, I try to remember that there is nothing to fear but fear itself. I have to start somewhere...

Love the hand... I agree about the next few months, it's gonna be a bit of a wild ride and I just hope we can hang on.

Wow, this is going to be a beautiful and thought-provoking piece. You're spot-on about the economy. We've hunkered down for the long haul. BTW, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such wonderful comments about the CQ pillow. Hugs, Cathy

What an evocative image already. Very potent. The BJP was obviously the right thing for you to engage in right now.
We are in for hard times, it is true. But the seasons will still change, and needles and threads don't cost much. We'll get by....and we'll do it smiling, too.

I continue to remind myself that it's a good time to shop my stash for supplies. I seem to be newly inspired to use stuff I brought home years ago. I went through the rough times of the '80s and had 2 kids to boot so I think I will do OK this time. You will too. I just worry about my son's generation.

Thanks for sharing the Anniversary pictures. So touching and emotional. I still beat you on the messy house/studio photos but I do appreciate your sharing. I'll take a picture when I dig out...
