An Embroidery from Mom



In the last few days of Mom's life, she gave me this embroidery she had picked up at an antique shop.


The colors are vibrant; the embroidery is silk on silk. The cherries are heavily padded and wonderfully shaded. And the leaves, turned out beautifully. Look how the light plays on the different shades of silk and the direction of the stitches...


I'm wondering if I should try to clean it or frame it, as is. I'll take it to my Japanese Embroidery teacher next week for her opinion.


It's very cheery, all those cherries...
