How awesome to be able to watch the little babies grow up. I thought it was a pot on the ground, also. Thankfully it can be raised so that ground walking predators will not be able to get at them. Just gotta love nature.
I'm so surprised that the parents allow you near the nest. Mine are more protective. The mother never leaves until they are ready to eat. Perhaps that is because there are EVIL SPARROWS lurking everywhere...waiting...and .... waiting xx, Carol
was surprised to see them nesting on the grass then read your comment that you lift them down to photo, they would stand do chance with cats etc would they
Gracious, I've never seen baby birds so small before! What an amazing thing to be able to watch them grow up so closely :) Birds astound me - just feathers and fluff and yet they sing so prettily and fly so far!
It's always a happy day when I see that you've stopped by and left a note. Thanks for taking the time to send me your beautiful thoughts. I try to comment back when life isn't too hectic and when Blogger has your email.
Don't you just love baby birds!? Can't wait to see more pictures.
ReplyDeleteUnusual they nested in a bucket on the ground! Won't it be fun to watch them grow? Especially with a "birds eye view!"
ReplyDeleteIt's actually a bird house where I can pull the "bucket" down to look at it. I'll show you next time...

ReplyDeleteVery cute! Good to know they'll be out of range of the local cats, though!
