Turkey Pounces on Leaf Parade

Here I am trying to create woodsy goodness on my special heart.

I'm making leaves for that magical plant that I still need to tell you about...

I'm also making woodsy undergrowth from which my leaves will emerge in all their green glory.

To make that woodsy, leafy impression, I love to use this mesh ribbon stuff. It looks pretty tame right off the roll...

But I never use it that way. Instead, I like to distress it and color it with my Copic sketch markers (or any fabric paint nearby) to get the color I want...

And it starts to look like woodsy undergrowth to me. I used it to create my Underland undergrowth in my Alice in Wonderland piece. You can see it tucked into the woods in this in-progress pic at the top...

Maureen Greeson sells it in her Vintage Acquisitions shop here. And I also saw that she just added some beautiful fabric packs that includes the silk velvet I used in the mushrooms on my Alice piece too.

The woods-making and leaf parade is all coming to a halt for a few days since the turkey trounced into town...
