Just shoot me...

OK. When I started making these little Black-eyed Susans as my motifs for the motif swap, I was just going to make a little flower head...34 of them...

Then I just had to add a stem...and then a leaf...And I was so delighted with how cute they were that I got the idea to present them in a flower cone...

OK. Why can't I just keep it simple?? Nooooo....not me. Now, I'm cutting and cone-ing,

Bow tying (I need smaller fingers!!),

And tissue papering...

I have 33 more to go...

Just shoot me.

P.S. But they are so cute, aren't they? Oh well, God knows what I'll be wearing but at least these little flowers will be well-dressed!

P.P.S. Sorry...I'm afraid you'll have to see them one more time. It's dark and rainy today so I can't do their official photoshoot. They're just too pretty not to exploit with my camera's lens...

P.P.P.S. I have absolutely no time but I'm leaving all day today to attend a Goldwork workshop with Tricia Wilson Nguyen of Thistle Threads. And boy do I have some pretty pics to show you!! It's terrible timing but a chance to study with her doesn't come along every day! Yesterday, she told us the story of the Plimoth Jacket....but more on that later...gotta run!!!

  1. They are indeed extremely cute. Your swap partners are going to be thrilled. .... And they make the cutest banner for your blog :-)

Now, I don't have to tell you how much I want to be on that workshop with you, do I. Have a great day and tell us all about it soon!

Very cute! You make me laugh. "Just shoot me" indeed. C'mon. You're almost finished... And it has turned out to be so worth it!

Ps... I like your quote today. Must be yours... Don't forget to write that one down. That's a keeper! :)

  3. I know the feeling...it starts out simple, then you add a little something, and then a little something more, and then realize all those little somethings add up to a lot more time...but it really is so much fun. And I can't wait to see the final picture! It'll be worth it.

  4. The pleasure of the recipients to get such beautifully presented flowers will more than make up for all the hard work. I know the feeling though, I can't stop at "good enough" either!

  5. I think this is what software engineers call "feature creep" - but I bet they never come up with anything half so pretty.

And like Carol-Ann, I am desperately envious of your workshop with Tricia!

  6. Looking at your blog sprinkled with all those black-eyed Susans is a real mood-lifter. I friended you on Ravelry, where my moniker is Audreycat (after my cat Audrey who is my ravatar).
