Warm Fuzzies and Felted Cups

By three o'clock yesterday afternoon, my Guild members and I were in our cups...and we hadn't yet had one drop to drink...

To say it was a magically, wonderful day is an understatement. It was one of those workshops where everyone finished their project and every single one of them turned out beautifully.

And Betz White is charming! Not to mention unabashedly generous with her knowledge...

Betz came to teach a workshop on her Cup O'Joe pincushion, made famous by her appearance on Martha Stewart Living.

Playing with the sweaters that Betz finds in thrift shops and brings home to felt...the fair isles, the stripes, the argyles...and cutting them up...and fashioning the felt into three-dimensional cups...for our pins... It was absolute delight.

They were ALL adorable! The cups and the women. And we swirled and sewed and chatted and laughed.

And we were warmed by the feelings that come from a well-taught, well executed project. Ahhhhh....

Complete satisfaction and gratification.

And, as if we weren't feeling cozy enough already, Betz showed us how to make these cute little nests...

And the pattern for that cool bowl is in her Warm Fuzzies book.

Everyone left very very happy.

With a new skill...and a sweet cup...to keep our pins near at hand...

You can check out Betz' blog here...and her Etsy shop here...and she's written TWO books...Warm Fuzzies and Sewing Green...both of which you can find in her shop.

We loved you Betz and we can't wait to have you back!

I LOVE my new cup!

  2. My goodness, lovely cups!

Just a question, were blue eyes a requirement to sign up for the class?

  8. What a nice group of ladies you have to play around with and what great playing it was. The teacups are adorable. I haven't got into actually felting old woolens but my daughter has and made 5 great christmas stockings last year plus some great handbags for teacher gifts.
