So, you'll have to imagine the shimmer of the silk, the lustre of the velvet and the special tinkle of tarnished silver lace. And think of mirrors and reflections and snow and gray days...
you will come up with a way to show those fabrics to their fullest, though i am sure they will take second stage to all the actors waiting in the wings for their chance.
Susan I am sorry you are not feeling well. I just backed up and read your last post also and really enjoy the January reflecting. Your stitched base will be a wonderful canvas for your beautiful stitching and details. You are correct the photo does not show the richness of the fabrics but I can imagine them as I love velvet, silk, damask, jaquard and so many fine fabrics. Healing Hugs Dear...
Oh I am getting so excited to watch this piece come together. I so loved the Tiffany piece and I expect this one will be just as WONDERFUL. Hugs and have fun.
Beautiful block! I cannot wait to see how this block develops under your artistic hands. I love the colors you have chosen. reminds me of diamonds, icicles and cold winter nights.
Doesn't look flat to me; I especially like the polka dot piece. At any rate, your magic needle and a few embellishments will work wonders with this already very pretty block!
It's always a happy day when I see that you've stopped by and left a note. Thanks for taking the time to send me your beautiful thoughts. I try to comment back when life isn't too hectic and when Blogger has your email.
I love the texture of your materials and can't wait to see what you do with it ! Your stitching is so inspiring !
ReplyDeleteWaiting to see this develope into a beautiful piece.

The material looks perfect for the addition of aged silver. It has such a delicious patina, don't you think so?
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see this new piece come to life.

Looking forward to seeing this grow. Maybe a light from the side would help show up the texture and shine?
ReplyDeleteI like the subdues colours. They are going to be the perfect backdrop for all the sparkles in your collection box. The silver lace is wonderful.
