Did you flip your hand over with Photoshop? Whatever you did, you got great results. That needle looks awfully big....does it really fit through the beads? I think that's one of the hard parts of attaching beads to things, getting the needle through them. Maybe I've just not found the right needles?

I love your quote today by Susan Vreeland. There was an opinion piece on NPR about the transition of books to the new e-format readers, the gist of which was that the printed page will be like the Rosetta Stone someday, squiggles and pictures needing deciphering like the ancient heiroglyphs, while the ipods, and the cd's will be the detritus that people will wonder what use they had...(A coaster for that drink, madame?) Seems like beading and sewn illustrations will need no such interpretations - they'll be like the mosaics of Rome and Pompeii, beautiful, regardless. Maybe not as permanent (of course!) but still...
I added my own hand 'print' to a child's quilt and my mom said, "I always know your hand, because you are the only one in the family with that bent thumb.." I feel I need to add it to all quilt labels now.
Sorry no quips, just a vivid memory. I had to hand it to you, I couldn't hand-le keeping it to myself.
EGad dear girl! You've taken a picture of your hand.!. Whatever will you DO with it? At least you didn't take a picture of you foot.. everyone is taking pictures of their fat painted toes and posting them on FB. How silly. Well, whatever you plan for your hand, I'm sure it will be unique. Till the morrow.
Your photos say so much. And they are also a great teaching tool. I keep thinking I should use my recent pen and ink drawings to do some embroidery. Is the stitching over the tracing paper how you have transfered it to the fabric? I guess the paper is then ripped off?
