This is the last of four Monday posts where I'll show pictures of pieces of antique ribbonwork that I have in my collection while preparing for a ribbonwork workshop with Candace Kling in November.
I saved my favorite piece for last...
I love this ruffled pink ribbon.
There's a luster to this antique ribbon that we just don't see in our modern silk ribbon.
And again, you can see from the back of the work, that the ribbonwork components are made separately and then applied to a background.
Next week, I'll be heading up to Connecticut for the workshop.

ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with you on your comment about the sheen of the silk ribbon. Why do you think that is? Is it b/c of the over processing of the silk ribbon production today versus processing done in the past? Just thinking...

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful but the blue basket was my favorite. You will love Candace. I was lucky enough to go to the EG meeting where she did a program and showed a lot of her stuff. Unfortunately her classes were filled very early so did not get to one of those.
