It's so tempting. It's like wanting to eat dessert before you finish your dinner.
And that little box of three-dimensional goodies is the prize...the dessert. When I am finally able to attach all of those, it means that the finish line is in sight.
I can't wait for that moment!
But, I know...
If I attach them too early, I'll be frustrated with my thread catching on everything. I have to wait.
I'm so close to being finished. And I'm antsy. I want to move on. I have other things I want to do.
So, I'm trying not to fight that emotion -- I'm trying to recognize it and let it pass through me. Let the peace return.
I'm trying to settle into the final push of needle, thread and beads to complete this piece. And keep stitching. I should be finished soon.
(Just in time for the next snowstorm to hit. I think it will be on Tuesday night. I'm not sure Jack is ever going back to school!)
... you make me want desert! Can I skip my meal today mommy? I have really, really, reeeeeaaaaallllly been a good girl! And I promiss... LOL. No kidding, you are making me curious! But then again, that's what you work does to me. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou describe the end of this project as I am describing the end of winter. Not so much that I can speed it along, but I want to finish all my "winter" projects so I can move on to summery things I have in mind to do.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it so hard to maintain focus when the next project we are excited about looms ahead!
xx, Carol

ReplyDeleteWhat are you creating with the wodnerful cross stitch and blues and purple anenomes and gems and doo dads??? Can't wait to see!!
I am begining to think that the kids will still be in school in July!! I ahve had enough!! We should be able to be pruning back our roses by now!!!!
Keep toasty!!
Have I mentioned before that I've never seen snow? I'm *such* an Australian!
ReplyDeleteMay I ask where you got the glass stone purple flower. I need something like that in my life.
I know the feeling! For me, it isn't "quite right" until I start to place those last few things. Then the picture matches what is in my head and I can breathe a sigh of relief that I didn't mess it up!
ReplyDeleteIs that burlap I see? This is going to be interesting.
ReplyDeleteAll that snow - I don't miss it a bit. Well maybe a little bit when it is first coming down then if it would shovel itself back I may come home.
Hugs

I'm sure the antsy feeling has something to do with cabin fever! Although...no!!!!...it's way too early for that!!! You know what to do to finish it...you'll be fine. And believe me when I reiterate the fact that you don't want to attach things until the stitching is done! Most of my time is spent getting the thread away from my rocks and beads...even with a "cover thing"! Hope this storm coming is warmer than the last! I'm sure the kids are thinking they'll be having to make up school well into July! Oh no...the horror!!!!
ReplyDeleteBoy, I hear you. There is that on-going itch to get out the shiny things and finish a project. It's the needleworker's version of "are we there yet?" It sounds like you're almost done, so the urgency is especially strong. Enjoy every step of the project.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see the end product. I hope being stuck at home will create some extra stitching time for you.
